MapoFaktura 2023 this is a fourth edition of the event organised by the students of tourism and recreation programme at the Faculty of Geographical Sciences, University of Lodz (Poland). This year we are going to contribute to both the GeoNigh initiative and celebrations of the 600th anniversary of granting ?ód? city rights. This year we want to focus on gastronomy in ?ód?. The goal is to deliver ?ód? GastroMap! We want to update the OpenStreetMap database with the most up-to-date information about restaurants and other gastronomy entities operating in ?ód?. Then, we are going to start with a basic programming course. Using programming skills we will collect the data from the OpenStreetMap. Processing the data is the next step of our work. For that purpose, we are going to use free and open-source QGIS software. GastroMap of ?ód? will be the basis for discussion on gastronomic potential of the city for the development of sustainable tourism. Let’s get down to work!

Main objectives:

We will get to know OpenStreetMap. We will develop our programming skills. We will learn about spatial databases. We will get to know QGIS software. Finally, we will deliver and analyse the GastroMap of ?ód?!
