During the event, we would like to present a meeting with the director of the Warsaw Zoological Garden in the form of an online recording, during which the issues of the actual contemporary role of zoos belonging to European (EAZA) and world (WAZA) organizations associating zoos and aquariums will be discussed.
The activities of the Warsaw Zoo in the framework of the protection of endangered species carried out ex situ will also be presented.
After the screening of the recording, there will be a space for discussion and exchange of opinions of all gathered participants of the meeting.
Main objectives:
The main objectives of our event include:
* raising awareness of the central role of zoos in the world;
* arousing the curiosity of participants about the activities undertaken by zoos to protect endangered species;
* encouraging active participation in the life of local zoological gardens and taking individual actions related to the protection of fauna threatened with extinction.
