Microplastics – a global problem with local consequences

Description:

Mikroplastika – globalni problem s lokalnim posljedicama

Rad učenika u ovoj aktivnosti potaknut će razvoj svijesti o ekološkom problemu mikroplastike u morima i oceanima. Mentorice su Zrinka Klarin, učiteljica geografije i Anita Mustać, učiteljica biologije.

Microplastics – a global problem with local consequences

In the project, students are investigating the presence of microplastics in sand and sea samples collected from a city beach. The aim of the research is to analyze the presence of microplastics in the samples using a digital microscope. Students will examine the sea and sand samples under a microscope and draw a picture of the particles visible under the microscope. Students’ work in this activity will encourage awareness of the environmental problem of microplastics in the seas and oceans. The mentors are Zrinka Klarin, geography teacher, and Anita Mustać, biology teacher.

Raising students’ awareness of the global problem of increasing microplastics in the environment.
