Salisu Lawal Halliru is a Senior Lecturer at Department of Geography, Federal University of Education Kano - Nigeria. He had his Bachelor degree of Science in Geography and postgraduate Diploma on Environmental Management at Bayero University Kano. He has Masters Degree in Geography from Kampala International University, Uganda and PhD in Geography (Climatology/Climate Change) from Umaru Musa Yar Adua University Katsina. He undertakes projects on climate change issues, sustainable development, Population and poverty indices were he presented his research work on both national and international conferences; he is a member Association of Nigerian Geographers, African Geopark network, and member research and development network in Nigeria among others. His active participation in IGU conferences started since 2011 in Chile till date. He authored and co-authored Book chapter contributions, numerous journal articles, including International Journal of Sustainable Development, Volume 2,Number 3, 2009, Climate Change and rural water supply in Nigeria, An Appraisal of Climate Change: Global risks challenges and community Based Adaptation Approaches for Sustainable Development in Northern Nigeria. He is also an associate editor International Journal of Climate Change: Impacts and Responses Volume 2, number 1and 2, 2010, His research interest focus in the areas of Environmental Management and Sustainable development, Population Dynamic, Water resources management, rural development, Poverty and Education sustainability, with special interest in Geopark, Geoheritage and Goe-Education, Climate Change and food security. He is currently working on Climate change Population migration and De agrarianization in Dryland North – western Nigeria.
