This public lecture is being held as part of the Island Lecture Series is hosted by the Institute of Island Studies at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada. The series functions as a partial fulfillment of its mandates to serve as a bridge between the University and island communities, encourage knowledge and understanding of Prince Edward Island, and link global and local island communities, research, and experiences.

This lecture is contributing towards the work of the IGU Commission on Islands, and it will explore placemaking that occurred on a regional level in Atlantic Canada during the covid-19 pandemic, through the creation of the Atlantic Bubble in the summer of 2020.
