Description:
“Mapping Together” is an interactive GeoNight event designed for the general public. Participants, working in teams, will explore how maps represent real space and how different perspectives shape our understanding of place.
Each team will create and interpret hand-drawn maps, search for hidden map fragments in the surrounding area, and collaborate to assemble a complete map of the park. Only by putting all pieces together will participants be able to identify the final treasure location.
The activity highlights how maps are not just drawings, but tools for understanding landscape, orientation, and spatial relationships.
Main objectives:
* To introduce geography through practical and accessible map-based activities
* To demonstrate how maps represent space, landscape, and human interpretation
* To develop spatial thinking and orientation skills
* To encourage collaboration and shared problem-solving
* To show that geographical knowledge is relevant to everyday life and open to everyone
