[ENG] The event offers a guided tour in the town of Rive (VC) to discover the DeRive project: a series of murals interpreting and enhancing memory, identity, and rural traditions of the territory through art. The experience continues with a visit to a rice field, a key element of the local heritage, to observe landscape transformations linked to climate change.

[ITA] L’evento offre una visita guidata nella città di Rive (VC) alla scoperta del progetto DeRive: una serie di murales che interpretano e valorizzano la memoria, l’identità e le tradizioni rurali del territorio attraverso l’arte. L’esperienza prosegue con una visita in risaia, elemento chiave del patrimonio locale, per osservare le trasformazioni del paesaggio legate al cambiamento climatico.

Main objectives:

[ENG] The event aims to: promote the rural heritage of Rive through an integrated geographical approach to art; analyse the role of murals as tools for territorial narration and landscape interpretation; stimulate reflection on the dialogue between geography, agricultural practices, and climate change; promote greater awareness of the dynamics between territory, local identity, and contemporary forms of heritage enhancement.

[ITA] L’evento intende: valorizzare il patrimonio rurale di Rive attraverso un approccio geografico integrato con l’arte; analizzare il ruolo dei murales come strumenti di narrazione territoriale e di interpretazione del paesaggio; stimolare una riflessione sul dialogo tra geografia, pratiche agricole e cambiamenti climatici; promuovere una maggiore consapevolezza delle dinamiche tra territorio, identità locale e forme contemporanee di valorizzazione del patrimonio.

[ENG] The event takes place in collaboration with the Municipality of Rive and Professors Stefania Benetti, Stefania Cerutti, Enrico Ferrero, Rodrigo Míguez Núñez, Giacomo Pettenati of the University of Piemonte Orientale. The activity includes a tour of the murals created as part of the “DeRIVE Arte pubblica nello spazio rurale” initiative, followed by a visit to a rice paddy; comfortable shoes are therefore recommended. The meeting point is at 3.00 pm in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, 1, 13030 Rive (VC). For those wishing to take part on a full stomach, the tour is preceded by a lunch organised by the Municipality of Rive and the Rive Festivities Committee, featuring local specialities.
