Building upon the wonderful initiative of the previous year, launched through the fruitful collaboration between the Institute of Geography of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, we are honored to announce this year’s event in the GeoCamp format. We deeply value the scientific and organizational foundation established last year, and our shared goal is to preserve this noble tradition that unites the professional community around a devotion to geographical science.
This year, GeoCamp focuses on the fundamental aspects of our profession — geographical research methods, with a special emphasis on field research, which remains the heart of geography. We strive to create a space for a sincere exchange of experience between different generations of geographers: from distinguished masters to young researchers just beginning their journey.
The event will take the form of warm discussions around an improvised online campfire. A special atmosphere will be enhanced by visual accompaniment: together, we will reflect on photographs and collages from field expeditions, recalling shared achievements and envisioning new horizons.
Main objectives:
- Continuity of Traditions. Strengthening the bonds between scientific schools and generations of researchers.
- Exchange of Experience. Discussing classical and innovative methods of field research.
- Professional Networking. Expanding the circle of colleagues and promoting geography.
- Future Projects. Creating a foundation for new collaborative scientific initiatives.
