Artificial Intelligence and cities of the future

Description:

The event will feature the presentation of the volume Artificial Intelligence (AI) and New Urbanism (Franco Angeli, 2025), with the participation of several speakers, specialized in geography, history and cultural studies, ethics and AI. The interdisciplinary debate will be followed by a targeted discussion among stakeholders on the impact of IA on urban spaces and on the different aspects of everyday life. The event envisages the active involvement of citizens, students, school teachers, and representatives of associations, local authorities, and planners, with the aim of fostering an open dialogue on emerging themes and scenarios related to artificial intelligence and urban transformations. During the meeting, a simple interactive tool accessible via smartphone will be used to collect participants’ opinions and perceptions in real time, thereby enhancing the participatory dimension of the initiative and offering an immediate basis for interpreting shared representations and expectations. Finally, to further engage citizens and young people and to explore different narrative languages, a free public film screening (Blade Runner) is scheduled, intended to further stimulate debate about the visions of the cities of the future. The event is therefore structured into three parts: an initial presentation of the volume, a second part consisting of a roundtable discussion, and a third part dedicated to the film screening introduced by experts.
