Description:
Where is the wind power hidden, and where does the sun shine the brightest? Join us in exploring energy geography with a little help from mathematics. Through interactive games and a poster exhibition, discover how renewable resources are becoming the key to the sustainability of our planet. Discover how the natural characteristics of the area (relief, climate, location and availability of resources) affect the choice and efficiency of renewable energy.
You will analyse real and current data on the availability and use of natural resources in different parts of the world and compare regions according to their energy potential.
Main objectives:
To show how spatial patterns (geography) and data analysis (math) work together to solve real-world energy challenges.
To identify the specific geographic conditions—such as topography, climate, and relief—that dictate where solar, wind, and hydropower plants are most effective.
To present a clear, data-driven “snapshot” of the world’s current renewable energy consumption versus its unused potential through graphs.
