Commonshood all’orto della SME: geografie digitali, cura e creazione di valore

Il progetto Commonshood in the garden (Dipartimento di Informatica e Dipartimento di Scienze Economico-Sociali e Matematico-Statistiche dell’Università di Torino) è un esempio di ricerca-azione che mira a coinvolgere la comunità universitaria e la cittadinanza nella gestione di un bene comune, in un’ottica di sostenibilità e inclusione sociale. Nel farlo, il progetto dà vita a nuove geografie digitali, attraverso cui un luogo prende forma e diviene oggetto di pratiche di cura per mezzo dell’utilizzo di tecnologie digitali quali l’app blockchain Commonshood. L’app Commonshood, attraverso l’utilizzo di tokens, abilita lo scambio di valori non monetari, supportando la creazione di economie sociali e solidali di tipo locale e remunerando l’impegno di chi si prende cura di un luogo – l’orto – le cui fruizione e gestione ne fanno un bene comune.

Commonshood è una tecnologia digitale civica che consente di creare e scambiare valori alternativi a quelli monetari, dall’altro toccando con mano l’integrazione fra digitale e luoghi fisici. In particolare, il progetto Commonshood in the Garden ha l’obiettivo di utilizzare l’app per creare una “attrezzoteca” digitale, attraverso cui sia possibile scambiare attrezzi per la cura dell’orto e abilitare lo scambio di semi fra i membri della comunità.

Durante l’evento, sarà possibile: 1) sperimentare l’utilizzo dell’app per lo scambio di attrezzi da giardinaggio e lo scambio di semi; 2) conoscere il progetto e fare rete con le altre esperienze di orti urbani sul territorio di Torino.  

The ‘Commonshood in the garden’ project (Departments of Informatics and of Economic-Social Sciences and Mathematical-Statistical Sciences of the University of Turin) is an example of action research which aims to involve the university community and citizens in the management of a common good, in a perspective of sustainability and social inclusion. In doing so, the project gives life to new digital geographies, through which a place takes shape and becomes the object of caring practices through the use of digital technologies such as the Commonshood blockchain app. The Commonshood app, through the use of tokens, enables the exchange of non-monetary values, supporting the creation of local social and solidarity economies and rewarding the commitment of those who take care of a place – the vegetable garden -, whose use and management make it a common good.

Commonshood is a civic digital technology that allows you to create and exchange values ​​alternative to monetary ones, on the other hand experiencing first-hand the integration between digital and physical places. In particular, the Commonshood in the Garden project aims to use the app to create a digital “gardening tools library”, through which it is possible to exchange tools for garden care and enable the exchange of seeds between community members.

During the event, it will be possible to: 1) experiment with the use of the app for exchanging gardening tools and exchanging seeds; 2) learn about the project and network with other experiences of urban gardens in the Turin area.
