Short presentation of the event: I terremoti in Italia sono localizzati all’interno di zone tettonicamente attive, caratterizzati da faglie e sistemi di faglie che nel complesso hanno generato depressioni sui quali si sono impostati i fiumi; rilievi da cui hanno avuto origine le catene montuose e colline. L’Italia quale territorio giovane subisce continue mutazioni, spesso accompagnate anche da eventi di grande energia che spesso hanno sconvolto il tessuto sociale, economico e architettonico di numerosi centri abitati, molti dei quali ricostruiti in altre zone. Pertanto studiare i terremoti significa leggere sotto un’altra ottica la storia e la geografia dell’Italia stessa. inoltre studiarne le caratteristiche significa anche orientarsi all’interno del territorio italiano.
LA conoscenza è di per se prevenzione.

In Italy earthquakes are located within tectonically active zones, characterized by faults and fault systems that have generated depressions on which rivers have set; reliefs from which the mountain ranges and hills originated. As a young territory, Italy undergoes continuous changes, that are often accompanied by events of great energy causing upheaval in the social, economic and architectural fabric of many towns, many of which rebuilt in other areas. Therefore studying earthquakes means reading the history and geography of Italy itself from another perspective. Moreover, studying its characteristics also means orienting oneself within the Italian territory. Knowledge is itself prevention.
